The New York Public Library signed off on a partnership with HathiTrust, a shared repository of digitized content from academic and research libraries. The agreement makes NYPL the 27th library to join the partnership, which was formed in 2008 and counts the Columbia University Library and the University of California's library system as fellow partners.

Web-based productivity suite Zoho announced the launch of unified search for its full suite of applications, eliminating the need to search individually in each of the suite's several applications. The unified search functionality allows users to search the entirety of the Zoho suite with a single search query, letting companies find content regardless of whether it resides in Zoho Mail, Docs, Writer, Sheet, Show, Notebook, or any of the other Zoho apps.

San Mateo-based startup Sharegrove announced that it has been acquired by social networking giant Facebook. Sharegrove is a group chatting client that provides a way for online friends to have private conversations through the web, including sharing of websites and various forms of multimedia. It also featured built-in search functions and Facebook friends list interconnectivity.

American electronics company Marvell joined forces with Hanwang, a Chinese e-reader manufacturer, to produce the Marvell ARMADA166E, a new product intended to provide the global e-reader market with a competitive, low-cost competitor to current offerings. The ARMADA 166E, due out this fall, features an epaper display and a processing center capable of running the latest Android, Linux, and WinCE operating systems and viewing ePub and PDF files.

Google Editions, the forthcoming cloud bookstore from the Menlo Park, Calif.-based internet giant, will be available on multiple platforms and mobile devices, the company announced. Not only will the Google Editions collection be available online, but content will be available through apps for Android-based smartphones, the Apple iPad, and, in the future, other mobile devices.

Kentico Software announced the release of Kentico CMS for ASP.NET version 5.5, a new version of its CMS software that provides full support for Visual Studio 2010 and the Microsoft .NET Framework 4. The report is based on a survey, conducted in January and February 2010, of 1,629 managers and employees in the U.K., the U.S., Germany, and Australia.
