According to a new study, many UK companies are still struggling to deliver adequate customer service through the web, email, social media, and web chat channels, with Twitter performance particularly patchy. Only 39% of companies were able to answer customer service questions asked through Twitter, despite 76% of organizations now being contactable through this channel.

Adobe and SAP announced a global reseller agreement targeted at digital marketing for enterprise customers. SAP will resell Adobe Marketing Cloud with the SAP HANA Platform and the hybris Commerce Suite. Additional partnership were announced with Epsilon, Deloitte, and Wunderman. Adobe also announced enhancements to its Adobe Marketing Cloud and Adobe Experience Manager.

Demandbase, Inc., a B2B targeting and personalization company, announced it has closed a $15 million round of equity financing. Greenspring Associates, a venture-only fund-of-funds with nearly $3 billion in committed capital, led the round. The investment included participation by existing investors including Scale Venture Partners, SigmaWest, Altos Ventures, Costanoa Ventures and Adobe Systems Incorporated. The new financing will be used to help accelerate the growth of the company's advertising solutions and fund additional innovations slated for release in 2014.

In a February 19 blog post, Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook intends to buy Whats App. For a total of $16 billion in cash and stock (yes...billion). There's another $3 billion in stock for Whats App employees but that will vest over four years. Whats App is a cross-platform messaging system that, according to the post, has over 450 million people using the service each month with 70% of them active on a given day.

The country's only opposition-friendly television station has been shut down, and as such, protesters are turning to the internet to get their message-and images-out to world at large.
