Burst Media, a provider of integrated advertising programs for U.S. brands, released the results from its first Influencer Marketing Benchmarks Report, which looked at the performance of dozens of Influencer Marketing programs across 15 key advertising verticals in 2014. The study found that advertisers who implemented Influencer Marketing programs received an average $6.85 in earned media value (EMV) for every $1.00 of paid media spent.

According to the statement:"Since launching in 2013, Helpouts has been a home for people to connect with experts on topics they want to learn about or seek advice and solutions to everyday problems. The Helpouts community includes some engaged and loyal contributors, but unfortunately, it hasn't grown at the pace we had expected. Sadly, we've made the tough decision to shut down the product."

Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission Tom Wheeler has unveiled his latest net neutrality plan in a Wired op-ed. Referring to the FCC's "authority to implement and enforce open internet protections", Wheeler says: "These enforceable, bright-line rules will ban paid prioritization, and the blocking and throttling of lawful content and services. I propose to fully apply-for the first time ever-those bright-line rules to mobile broadband."

adjust, an app analytics and attribution company, released a new "App Competition Retrospective Report" showing that competition for visibility in the app stores toughened severely throughout 2014. It says, 82.8% of all apps in the iOS App Store are "Zombie Apps", meaning they do not rank in the top lists and are effectively invisible in the app stores, up from 74% at the beginning of the year.

Despite being on of Uber's biggest investors, Google is reportedly preparing to launch its own ride-hailing service, according to Bloomberg. Google's investment arm originally shelled out $258 million in support of Uber-putting in more money during the company's second round of fundraising. Now, though, the search giant is said to be launching its own ride-hailing service in conjunction with its driverless car project.
